Fiances car caught fire along with several other problems that used car dealership didnt disclose upon purchase. Refuse to give another vehicle.

Question Details: My fiances car caught fire in the front engine compartment and has several other problems that the used car owner didn't disclosure upon purchase of the vehicle. They refuse to give him another car and the mechanic the dealership sent the car to every time it broke down, didn't fix the car. My question is, what can we do about getting either another vehicle from them or getting a complete refund for all of the trouble he has gone through? They told him that the car never caught fire and that it was nothing to be concerned about. What can we do about this problem?

Auto Accidents Law Answers

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  A lemon is a car that has a part or parts that are defective.  I suggest that you file a complaint against the manufacturer and the car dealership for breach of warranty.  You should locate a lawyer in your state that handles lemon law claims.  the process in most states is easy for consumers, however, you will get better results with a lawyer.  Most lawyers will consult with you for free the first time and take your case on a 1/3 contingency fee (you only pay if the lawyer collects money).  It sounds like you have a good claim.  make sure you have all the records from the dealer and the work orders for the work done.
