What are a stepchild's rights to inherit?
Question Details: My father-in-law died. My husband and his brother are the biolgical chidren but there are 5 stepchildren, whose mother past about 6 months ago with no Will. Can they go after my husband and brother-in-law for any of the benifits they will be receiving for their father's death?

Step children do not have inheritance rights from a steparent if no will or other instrument (trust) so provides. Strpcjhildren can only inherit from their natural parent.
