Until tomorow my hourly rate for family court modification cases is $125 per hour.  I am raising them after tomorrow but in any event they will not be higher thatn $175 per hour for family court modifications.  I am on the more competitive end. Most lawyers do charge higher rates.  I am located on Long Island however.  If you are upstate and only want to use a lawyer for consultations that is something you can consider.  www.NYAttorneyDivorce.com www.CriminalDefense1.com

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  You want to try to make a deal to have the lawyer represent you for the day for a flat fee.  Most lawyers in NY would come to court for you for $800.00.  I suggest shopping around a bit and finding a solo practitioner (a one man firm) as they will be the ost reasonable with you and understanding.  generally, the hourly rates are $300-800/hr.
