failure to stop and render aid
Question Details: my son after school was playing around with some friends. one threw a bottle under a car. my son was under the car when the car next to him backed up over his ankle. a witness told the driver that she had just run over his foot and drove off. the passenger in the car was going to get out and check on my son but the driver told him to get back in the car and they drove off. my son stayed for football practice without reporting it to the police. he did report it to his coaches. as i said there were witnesses. we contacted the police and they said that there was nothing they could do.
You could sue the person who ran over your sons ankle for his damages, if you can prove them. The fact he stayed for football practice suggests he was not hurt very badly. However, if you know the license number or identifying information on the person that ran over your son you can sue them in a civil court - you would look for a 'personal injury' or 'accident' lawyer.
