Examination Under Oath

Question Details: Filled an insurance claim for the theft of a cargo trailer, also a police report. The investigator talked to neighbors near our home where the trailer was taken. We were two hundred miles away at our rental down state for work. Any way the insurance now wants a EUO and one requirements is to bring income tax statements and pay stubs for the last 3 years. Are W-2 's good enough?

I am not admitted in Michigan.  I understand the Insurance company exercising their right to an EUO for the claim. Why are they asking for the tax statements and pay stubs?  To see where you work?  To look and see if you took depreciation of the trailer on your taxes?  Asking for 36 back pay stubs is a lot.  I would ask why and see what they say.  You may want to take an attorney with you for the EUO.  Sounds like a fishing expedition.
