DWI conviction in NC, have limited driving privilege ,paid fine and did community service. Now moving to AZ. Can I drive here?

Question Details: 2009 feb, I got convicted of dwi level 5 in the state of NC. Paid fine, got limited privilege(feb 2009-feb 2010), did community service, have 1 year unsupervised probation. Now I have moved to AZ to go to ASU. My lawyer confirmed me that i need not get court order for the move since its unsupervised and since I have completed community service, and fines. My question is can I drive in AZ with the same restricted privilege within the specified time limits?. I do have valid insurance. Also with suspended licence and restricted DL can I refinance my car, I am paying hefty apr on my current loan.

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  Your lawyers advice is correct. you do not need to get a court order and permission to go live in AZ.  As for refinancing your car, you can try, however, banks may not lend on your car.  I suggest calling the financing department that you currently have and seeing what kind of deal they can work out for you.
