DUI / DWI Law Answers

A DUI never comes off your permanent record. However, in Colorado, for purposes of imposing a penalty, there is a 5 year "look-back period" (if you have three or more major incidents, the look-back period is elevated to 7 years).  What this means is that if you have an otherwise clean record for 5 years or more, than any DUI/DWAI will be treated as your first offense for sentencing purposes.
