DUI
Question Details:
I do not live in IL but I was there visiting and got the DUI plus was charged with leaving the scene; license suspended. I had to go home to FL and could not make court date. So now they are saying that it is upgraded to aggravaded DUI. I don't have the money to travel back and forth. What should I do?

I am a lawyer in Ct and practice in this area of the law. I suggesting trying to find a way to get back to IL as you can be extradited back there if you are pulled over in FL and the police see that that you have a warrant for your arrest in IL. This will be a huge inconvenience for you if this happens. If there is a way that you can save up some money to travel to IL to resolve this matter, that is what you should do. You do not want this coming back to haunt you.
