Car rental company rented a car under my driver license and credit card. Do I have a case against them for releasing my identity?
Question Details:
I am a member of the car rental company's "Express" program, where they have my information on file. They rented a car under my identity. They obviously did not check photo ID and verify that it was not me. They are being uncooperative in giving me an answer on how this happened. My CC company did give me a credit for they charge.
They are being uncooperative for at least one of at least two reasons. The two that I can think of are, first, they haven't been able to figure out the answer for themselves, and second, that management and/or their legal department doesn't want anyone to say anything that could come back to haunt them later.
This doesn't cost you anything, at this point, which is what's most important. Whether you want to continue in their program is something you might want to reconsider.

Are you a lawyer?
