Does an executor of an estate have to provide detailed accounting of out-of-pocket expenses?

If there is an issue regarding the expenses, an accounting could be demanded.  Aside from that , it may be in the executor's interest to provide an accounting in order to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses.
