Does my situation qualify as grounds for an annulment?
Question Details: Brought fiance over to Hawaii on a K-1 visa. Had a wedding on August 8 because the marriage license was set to expire on August 11. Officiant discovered that he was not commissioned by Hawaii State Department of Health at the time he performed wedding and signed the license. Officiant received his commission on August 11 and redid our vows. My wife refuses to consummate the marriage.
I am not admitted in Hawaii. It is my understanding that it is very difficult to get an annulment in Hawaii. They prefer divorce. Grounds for annulment are as follows: bigamy or existence of prior marriage, incest, mental illness or physical disability. Seek legal help in your area to see what you can do.
