Does comprehensive/collision auto insurance cover all types of Vehicle losses?

Question Details: I just paid off my new car loan. Major engine work in the amount of $5k I paid for out of pocket. while in the process of filing a small claim against the repair facility, they went out of business. My vehicle is not running properly and I know it will fail again. I have proof that this company tried to sabotage my car w/backing documents of my claim. is this considered a type of vandelisium? If I have to put another $5k into it do I have any rights to file a comp claim for fair market value of car? What are my options? If any?

In most states, comprehensive coverage responds to an "occurrence" of some sort, an accident, such as a tree falling on the car.  It's possible that this could be covered. Your claim would be for the cost of repairing the damage specifically caused by the vandalism, though, not more than that.

I'd go ahead and file the claim with your insurance company;  make sure that you keep your original documents and send them copies, or at least keep a good, re-copy-able set for yourself -- just in case the company denies the claim, and a local attorney is willing to sue them for you.
