Does age of the child matter when settling physical custody disputes?
In cases of a newborn child or very young (less than 2), is the court more willing to give sole physicial custody to the mother if she requests it but the father wants joint?

Both parents have equal right to assert custody. The court goes through an in depth analysis of what is in the best interest of the child. The age alone will not be determinative in an of itself. If you have further questions , please call .
