Do I legally have to give my husband my address if I fear for my safety due to physical violence, threats, and harassment?
Question Details:
I was forced to flee due to violence and threats. Now the lawyer says that I have to give him my physical address. I am afraid if he gets it he may come and try to harm me. I have custody of our 2 daughters. Do i have to let him have it?
You do not have to give him your address unless the court has ordered it. If he wants to exercise visitation of the children, arrange it at a neutral site. Whose lawyer is saying you have to give him your address? Have you obtained a protective order? If not, the local District Attorney's office can help you with that. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
