Do I have to be insured eventhough I am not driving any car eventhough I am a dependent?
Question Details: I recently got into a wreck. My car isn't not drivable and I am not able to fix it. I am a dependent and my parents are saying that I must pay insurance eventhough I am not driving any car and I told them to take the car off the policy. They say the insurance company said it was a state law. Is this true?

Your question is very unclear.
Although I am not a Louisiana lawyer I can't imagine there is any law requiring everyone to have auto liability insurance whether or not she owns a car.
If you own a car and it has plates, yes you need insurance to drive it. You can end that problem by donating the wreck to a charity or selling it for scrap and taking off the plates and turning them back to the state. All of a sudden, no car, no need for insurance.
Of course if your parents own a car, the insurance company will assume you drive your parents' car. And their rates will go way up.
