Denial of apartment rental due to DUI
Question Details: My daughter and a friend are trying to rent an apartment in St. Petersburg, Florida and have been turned down because of a past DUI in Maryland on her friend's record. Is there anything they can do?

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. Unforntunately, having a criminal record can hurt trying to get approved for housing. I suggest that you try to locate a new place to live. int he meantime you can hire a lawyer to try to get the DUI expunged off your record. this can be done by filing an application with the board of pardons. I suggest using a lawyer to help file the application.
