Credit card debt statutes of limitation for Texas

Question Details: I received a citation from Citibank and I am being sued for credit card debt that I can't even remember having. Citibank provided a copy of a statment with a closing date of 6/24/08. What is (if any) credit card debt statutes of limitation for Texas?

Typically, it is four years.  Certain exceptions apply, as in virtually every area of the law, but the general rule is four years.

I'm not a Texas lawyer, but my research suggests that the statute of limitations on a written contract or open account collections in your state is four years.  So that isn't going to help you on this one, and neither is your lack of memory.  Unless you can prove this wasn't your account, you're going to have to pay it, sooner or later.
