Question: Business - California

Asked on 10/6/2009
Contract legal or not
Is a contract legal and binding if it only has one person's signature? And what if the company issuing the contract does not have any individual name, but only the name and address of the company? Last question: Is it legal for a company that provides services to use two different names and two different contracts to provide the same service WITHOUT informing the client that both actually come from the same company but that has two different names. What is involved here is service provided (or not provided)by Internet Marketing company(s).

AttorneyPages has verified that this person is an attorney.

You have asked several complex legal questions that may depend upon a variety of other issues and circumstances.   If the contract has your signature on it, you can be bound to comply unless you have rescinded that offer before it is accepted.

The same company can have many DBAs.   You would need to provide more information to advise if you are bound to duplicate contracts with the same company.

I urge you to discuss this entire matter with an attorney, who can review the contracts and the circumstances.
