Question: Business - Ohio

Asked on 7/31/2009
Client wrote a check to my business. I cashed it at a cash advance place for 10%. The check was returned NSF. Advance place says I have to pay. T/F?
Who is now responsible for the check? Cash advance place verified funds before cashing. How am I responsible? They also want me to pay returned check fees. Is this legal? Shouldn't person who wrote bad check be held responsible?

AttorneyPages has verified that this person is an attorney.

Most likely there is some sort of contract or form you signed when going to the cash advance place. That form should spell out what sort of remedies are available to you and your business, if any remedies are available.

Your best bet is to contact a skilled and experienced attorney in your local area who can then work with you and advise you how to proceed. Good luck.
