Claim on found policy several months after insured died

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  I would have to look at the policy to determine this issue.  generally, insurance companies try to deny claims that are not brought ion a reasonably timely manner and usualy must prove that your failure to bring the claim timely has prejudiced their rights.  In this circumstance I would need to know what each policy says and what the claim is for.  i suggest taking the policies to a lawyer to review them to determine these issues.
