It depends on the terms of the child support agreement. For example, does it specify that child support ends when the child no longer lives with the mother? If so, then you may no longer be obligated to pay child support. Does it state that you are to pay child support until the child reaches a certain age? If so, then you may still be obligated to pay if the child has not reached the specified age.

Don't stop paying until you understand your legal obligations under the child support agreement. If you are not sure, consult a family law attorney who can review it and explain the terms. An attorney, after reviewing the agreement, can also determine if you have legal grounds for seeking a modification of the agreement. For example, you can have payments reduced or request that you no longer pay support based on the facts of your case.
