Chapter 13

Question Details: I was wondering how often a Judge will make someone who files for Chapter 13 pay back 100% of their debt in the repayment plan? I had an attorney that I consulted with tell me that, generally speaking, they will make you pay back "pennies on the dollar", but that I could be made to pay back 100% of the debt. Just trying to get an "average" here so as to make a more informed decision. Thanks for your input....

There really isn't an average per se; it depends on the facts of each specific individual's finances.  I would go with whatever your attorney told you; they have access to all of the details of your case.

If you want you can review the basics of a Chapter 13 filing, possibly this may be of some help:  http://www.uscourts.gov/bankruptcycourts/bankruptcybasics/chapter13.html

Best of luck.
