What to do if I bought a car that is not working?
Question Details: I brought a car on craigslist. The guy told me everything was good with it so I paid $1,500 for it. By the time I got home with the car, it was dripping oil from the bottom. Is there anything that I can do to get my money back?
If it is a private, California lemon law does not apply. Check to see if at the sales the seller gave you any paperwork that marked AS IS. Unless the seller gave you an express warranty, you cannot hold him liable. You should consult an attorney to fully investigate the case and to see if there is a way to hold the seller liable.
