car accident

Question Details: I was recently in a car accident and called the police to report it, I informed the operator on the phone that everybody was fine and did not need EMS, but I was just really shaken up. While waiting for the officer to come to the scene my friend passed the accident and saw me there and stopped. When I started to explain the situation I began to hyperventilate and asked her to take me to the hospital. I got in the car and left before the officer arrived. The operator on the phone that I had talked to knew my name and my number, and the tow truck was already there when I left. On the way to the hospital I remembered I lost my health insurance recently and could not go to the hospital. I did not return to the accident. I figured everything would of already been done and over with. My question is how might this turn out? Ticket? jail time? fines?

Based on your explanation, it does not appear that you will get any jail time (unless there are some warrants out for your arrest).  As far as the ticket and the fines, it would depend on who was responsible for the accident.  If the accident was your fault, you may be ticketed and fines could be imposed, but not because you intended to go to the hospital and changed your mind.
