Candian manufacturer looking to export into the US indoor climbing equipment like walls and handholds
Question Details: One of my client is a small micro business , they are doing indoor climbing wall and handholds.They have been told that it will be suicidal to sell in the US because of possible liability issues, responsibilities ....Like if a kid in a gym climbs the wall and the handhold ruptures, he falls down hurts himself badly and the school could sue the manufacturer ...to me this is business as usual their is ways for a canadian manufacturer to protect against such realities.
Yes. It's called insurance. Your client might want to create a U.S. subsidiary, for all sales here, to buy that insurance so it didn't have to apply in Canada if he didn't want that. Of course, the cost of that insurance will have to be factored into the price.
