Can two attorneys charge 33 1/3 percent each in the same suit.
Question Details: My step mother is filing suit against the hospital where my father fell and received brain damage which caused his death. Her attorney is charging 33 1/3 percent of the suit. His children has hired a attorney that wants to intervene and also charge 33 1/3 percent. Is this possible for the attorneys to receive more money than the family?

No, that isn't what is going to happen. The attorneys are not representing the same people.
It is possible that the total verdict will be split, with the widow/stepmother getting part of it and the children getting part. Each attorney will get 33-1/3 % of his or her client's recovery, nothing from what the other attorney's client gets. So, whatever is the total the hospital (and any other defendants) have to pay, the attorneys will get fees that add up to 33-1/3 % of that.
