How do I get my ex-girlfriend to sign off on car loan papers so that I can sell car?

My ex-girlfriend is on car loan which is in both of our names (loan and title). She left town 2 years ago and I have been making payments ever since. I want to sell the car but she will not respond to any attempts to have her sign the necessary paperwork. What can I do?
If you stop making the payments, you will get her attention as the creditors will be coming after you and her and will likely repossess the car. However, you may not want to ruin your credit and be obligated to pay off a loan so you are stuck in the position of having to pay the loan off is you cannot get her to sign. If you can pay the loan off in full and then ask her to buy your interest in the car, then you may be able to recoup your losses. However, if you cannot locate her, you are eventually going to pay off the loan and she will have the car too. You need to track her down and get possession of the car, or stop paying insurance on the car and make her pay - if she is caught driving without insurance, she will be arrested and you can then get her attention to discuss this.
