Can I use my insurance on car A if I am involved in an accident driving a different car B?

Question Details: I was involved in an accident driving a newly purchased "used car" belonging to my brother who had just bought it (one day old) from a private party and was not insured yet? I was cited for not producing an insurance for this car. Can I use the insurance I have on a different car to show for this accident?

I doubt it.  I'm not sure, but it sounds like you were only given a ticket for not having the insurance card with you to give to the police officer.  If that's the case, there's really no defense.  In many courts, police officers in the same situation would have written the ticket for driving without insurance, which is much more serious, and in that instance you'd bring proof of your own insurance, together with the fact that it wasn't your car, and hope to get the charged reduced to the one I think you've got now anyway.
