Can I take my ex-girlfriend to court for money owed with only a verbal agreement in place?
Question Details:
We were going on vacation and we agreed to pay each half she didn't have the money right away, so we agreed that I would pay for the vacation and she would pay me the money back. She never did and I want to know if I have any legal grounds to collect that money? I also paid for a loan that she took out. Can I ask for that money as well? The total she owes is $4200, not including the interest I'm paying for the money I put on my credit card.
It seems you had an oral contract. It being under the amount of fifty thousand dollars should not be barred by the Statute of Frauds. I would sue her in small claims court where the limits are claims of five thousand dollars
