Can I sue the city for damages when one of its employees threatens repeatedly my personal safety and city officials turn their heads the other way?

Question Details: I went to City Hall to meet with two city officials about one of its employee who has continually and repeatedly threatens my personal safety while using this public facity of community services. One city official was an HR Administrator who could fire the employee, but so far the city has not respond to me by the promised date when this situation would be "fully resolved."

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  You should not have to be treated like this and the city officials should know better.  I suggest that you no longer have any contact with these people if you can avoid it.  i also suggest that you hire a lawyer to represent your interests here and write a letter to the city explaining what has happened and threaten litigation.  the city officials should not be committing assault on citizens and such a claim is actionable against the official, individually, and possibly the town.
