Can I sue someone to enforce a sale of a property?

Question Details: I entered into a contract with a guy to make payments to sell a piece of property in Oklahoma. He and I both live in Texas, different counties. He Hasn't made a payment in 3 months. Obviously, I can keep the money he has put down (not much). Can I sue him to enforce the contract for the remainder of the money and if so, where do I file?

Yes, you can sue him to make the payments and buy the land;  this is called a suit for specific performance.  However, it's more likely that he'll simply be found in breach of contract, and perhaps have to pay damages for that (if it's more than what the payments add up to).

You should file your lawsuit in Oklahoma, where the land is, if you really want to try to force him to complete the purchase, or if you've already given him a deed and you want to get that back.
