Can I sue an ex friend for psychological damages

Question Details: While I was deployed to Africa, a former friend became obsessed with my wife and tried to ruin our marrige. Come to find out he is VERY disturbed and has many, many mental issues. Can I sue for psychological damages?

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is that you would most likely not be able to sue the friend for psychological damages you suffered while away. Those types of damages, also called non-economic damages, are very hard to prove and litigation of the matter could be costly.

That being said, if you suffered economic damages such as lost wages, medical bills and things of that nature which were due to your friend's negligent actions, then you may have a better standing to file a personal injury lawsuit.
