Question Details: i work as a medical assistant, my office manager swears and screams at me in front of my coworkers. never about my job performance. For 3 yrs i have been there and there have been many times i have approched her with a question.only to be yelled at for bothering her. I am 40 yrs old so im not some kid that she can just talk to like that. she cut my hrs yesterday and when i asked why she screamed take it or leave it and get out of my office right now or go home. im tired of working in a professional place and being treated this way. i cant go to a doctor it will make things worse.
I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of law. The short answer to this question is that you are not eligible for unemployment if you leave voluntarily. If you are forced out, you may have some claim discrimination based on your age, but it does not seem that is the issue. rather, you have a manager that is out of control. I would look for a new job.

Are you a lawyer?
