Can I personally recieve my child support money?

Question Details: My dad and mom divorced when I was 6 months, my dad got custody of my 2 brothers and me. My brothers are 21 and 23. I'm 18, I moved out of my dad's house when I was 16. My mom is still paying $1500 a year to my dad for child support, and will be until I'm 23. However, I'm not receiving any of that money, and he is spending it on himself. My mom, grandmother, and I are wondering if there's anyway i can receive that money directly to me?

I think your mom needs to talk to an attorney.  From my understanding of Texas law, this child support order sounds extremely unusual for your state, where ordinarily child support stops at 18;  I'm not entirely sure that child support provision is actually legal in your state.  And in any state, the fact that you're no longer living there should be a good reason for a court to cut off the free money tap.

Child support is intended to benefit the child, although it's understood that some benefit will also go to the receiving parent.  But a situation like this removes all justification for continued payments.
