can I get this DUI dismissed

Question Details: I was arrested for DUI back in 2000, OCT 18. never went to court. FTA warrant was issued. I then went to prison for 8 years in Arizona. I just got out and want to take care of this.It has been 9 years and I am wanting to know if I can file some kind of motion to dismiss this DUI.

Unfortunately, the warrant for this will not expire.  You will need to go back to the jurisdiction where this happened and straighten this out.  If you could not appear due to you incarceration, that will be taken into consideration.  If you could appear but just failed to show up, then there will be a separate penalty for that, in addition to the original DIU offense.

Right now you need to contact an experienced attorney who practices locally to the court in question.  They can best advise you of how to proceed with this and can use their local contacts to your best advantage.
