Can I get sued for sharing information to one of the partners at my previous employment?

Question Details: I was recently forced to quit because my boss felt that it was my fault that another employee reported him to the labor board. That employee had a question and he was referred to the posted labor laws, internet, and if he couldn't find the answer, contact the labor board and ask. The owner ended up under investigation for the question at hand. Recently, the owners partner had a question regarding his contract with the owner. If I supply her with the answers she is seeking, will I end up fighting the owner for defamation of character? The partner is being wronged in many ways than one.
