Can I get a child back that I gave up 14 years ago if I never signed the final court papers?
Question Details:
I was forced to give up my child by threat of homelessness 14 years ago in CA. I was consistently told by people I knew that I could never get him back. I never signed the final court papers because I was too depressed to leave the house.

If your parental rights were terminated, which appears likely, you cannot now seek to have the child returned. Even if you did not have parental rights terminated, after 14 years it would be exceedingly unlikely.
