can i be charged with alcohol possession if i turn 21 before my court date

Question Details: i was charged a month before my brithday with possession of alcohol but have since turned 21. my court date is this coming thursday. a police officer off duty down here told me it will be dismissed. is this true or can they charge me

You can be charged.  Your age at the time of the arrest is what matters, not your age at trial.

Whether the off duty officer was correct or not, I can't say, although it's quite possible the charge would be dropped in a case like this.  But I wouldn't assume that this is going to be the case -- and it's not going to happen if you don't show up on time.  You might want to bring a lawyer, just in case the cop was wrong.
