Question Details: We had a cc account in 2001 that became a charge off. A debt company purchased it and are now taking us to court for balance. How do I owe them when I didnt have an account with them. Is there a way to find out the amount they purchased account for? What kind of defense can we use against them in court? Help Please?!!!

Criminal Defense Law Answers

Check your state's statute of limitations on debts to see if this debt is considered legally collectible. The limit is usually 4-6 years from the date of your last payment. After that, any filed lawsuit can be tossed out of court.
