I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  Employees at will may be fired for good bad or no reason at all.  i would need to know more facts about this situation; however, if you are on some kind of medical leave, it is bad faith for an employer to fire you, especially if you have a valid reason.  I suggest that you hire a lawyer to review the facts and circumstances that you were fire as you may have a valid wrongful termination claim, especially if the employer fired you becasue you were injured. Most lawyers will meet with you for free the first time.
