Can an employer deduct wages for damages or errors?
Question Details:
My employer has been deducting wages for damages without my knowledge or consent.
Am employer cannot hold you accountable for damages and/or errors and cannot just take the money out of your paycheck (at least not without your permission) unless the terms of your employment say that it can. For example, if there was a stated company policy or an employment/union contract that provides for this. Note: To the extent that such a policyy is instituted now or in the future, you can't be held accountable for damages/errors for any past amounts.
