Can a person who is on SSI/Disability be sued for damages to a car by an insurance company?

If a person damages someone else's car, intentionally or negligently, they can be sued for it, and the fact that they are getting SSI disability benefits doesn't change that.  The problem with a defendant like that is that they are often "judgment proof," since in most situations the benefits can't be garnished by a judgment creditor.

Someone working at the child support office has no business giving anyone legal advice.  It does happen, from time to time, about the child support process, when it can be something of a "gray area," but this isn't even close to appropriate.
