I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  The general rule is that the landlord may enter into the premises to make repairs or in emergency situations or to help the police of fire department.  The landlord is also permitted to enter the property to show it for the purposes of a sale or new renter.  However, the landlord should provide you with some notice - at least 24 hours - under a nonemergency situation.  I suggest that you look at the lease to see if you have a clause speaking to this.  if not, then you should set up a meeting to ask the landlord to provide you with some form of notice.  If this continues to persist, speak to a lawyer.  most lawyers will meeti with you for the first time for free.  the lawyer may be able to act as an intermediary to help you.
