Can a general judgement lien be avoided if there is no real estate owned for the duration of the first five years of lien?

Question Details:

Will a general judgement lien expire after five years if one property is homesteaded and the other foreclosed? Can the judgement be renewed without any property to record it against?

My research suggests that judgements are good in AZ for 5 years; however there is no time limit on the number of times that they can be renewed.  This means that if the creditor chooses to go to the time and trouble of renewing at the end of each five year period, the judgment can legally remain in force and effect indefinitely. Any attachable assets can be at risk.
