Can a garnishment take place even after a settlement letter has been sent to you?

The garnishment can continue until the matter is resolved.  You also run the risk of garnishment after the settlement is finalized unless garnishment and other collection activities are addressed in the settlement agreement.  You should consider taking the offer letter to an attorney for review.
