A collection attorney can access the debtors credit report and other types of consumer reports in order to find assets or to locate debtors. Many consumer reports will tell anyone (for a price) what property you own, where you live, and where you last registered your DL. Reports vary by state and by company, so the amount of data a collection attorney will vary depending on these factors.
