If you purchased a car with your boyfriend, but the title is only in his name, chances are that the car legally belongs to him regardless of whether you made payments. That being said, you might want to discuss the facts and circumstances of your situation with an attorney as it's difficult to give a yes or no answer simply based on the facts written and your boyfriend could have been unjustly enriched by your financial contributions.

Most attorneys offer free consultations, so it wouldn't cost you anything. If you do decide to speak with someone, make sure to bring all of the paperwork you have on the car's purchase, insurance payments and car payments.
