Can a creditor garnish a joint bank account?

Question Details:

Can a creditor go after a joint account that I have with my husband. I have not made any deposits to the account all the money was put in by my husband. My husband is not being sued.

Bankruptcy Law Answers

Yes. If it is a joint account, you both have ownership and control over the money; it is an asset of yours as well of your husband's, and therefore it is something creditors can try to reach.
