If a creditor was not in my bankruptcy can I ask for it to be reopened in order to relieve this debt?

Bankruptcy Law Answers

Yes, your case can be reopened in order to take care of new matters that crop up after the case. You will need to contact the court in question to ask for this.  Certain papers will need to be filed, including an amendment to your scheduled list of creditors, and the case will need to be closed (again).  While getting a case re-opened is at the discretion of the court (ie not automatic), the court is typically very liberal in allowing it.
