Auto Insurance for my 20-year old son who doesn't have a license,

Question Details: My son is 20. He let his driver's license expire because his car was hit by another driver and totaled. He has no car. He has no license. Can my insurance company force me, like they are trying, to buy auto insurance for my son even though he has no valid license and doesn't drive and doesn't have a car?

No. You only have to buy insurance to cover drivers in your household. If your son has no license and is a nondriver, he does not need insurance--indeed, I don't believe you can insurer a non-driver. Refuse the insurance and provide proof that  he has no license.

Just be sure to never let him borrow your car and drive w/o a license and insurnace--the liability you'd be exposed to is enormous.
